Blog 2: Responsibility

Responsibility to me is being able accept and take action for ones duties or situations. Being responsible is acknowledging something and changing it, fixing it, or simply making it better. Being responsible gives a person their own personal job and goals to complete and challenges to succeed in. Responsibility can lead a person further to being independent and doing thing on their own. I believe that any person who has been in a sticky situation or any situation at all will rightfully know if they should take some responsiblily for it or not. I think that if a person can name one thing that they could have, should have, should not have or did do during the time then they do take some part and have some responsibility as the other person or people. My friend was dog sitting our neighbors puppy one weekend for a little extra cash. She let me come over to study also while she was there since we were all so close. There was a hole in the gate in the backyard where the puppy was allowed to go and play twice a day. My friend and I got sidetracked and did not notice she went out the back door and into the yard. When we realized she was gone we checked everywhere then we went to the yard and seen the hole. The only conclusion was that she used it to escape. Our neighbor failed to mention that the gate needed repairing and the hole was big enough for the puppy. In this situation my friend was responsible for watching the puppy, but the owner is too because she did not get the fence repaired and never mentioned it. I take responsibility for just being there and distracting her from her duty. So we all take responsibility and accept our part in finding the puppy together.
